God sees… your heart

Publication date May 12, 2026

Do you ever worry about your appearance?

I love following the latest fashion trends and always try to look good, especially when I’m on stage. I think I owe that to my mom and her East Indian, Catholic heritage. She always told us to wear our best outfits to church, and she would pull out her best jewellery and say, “I’m a daughter of the King and want to look accordingly.”

On the other hand, some Christians worship God by dressing down; they believe that women shouldn’t wear any jewellery and that God is honoured by a simple, modest appearance (based on 1 Peter 3:3).

I don’t think one is better than the other. In the end, what matters is the heart. And that’s what God sees:

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7 NIV

People might look at our outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. I love that!

Your heart holds your motives, your fears, your quiet prayers, and even the questions you’re afraid to ask out loud. And God sees all of it. Not to condemn, but to make you aware.

David prayed:

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.Psalms 139:23-24 NIV

Allow God today to search your heart and show it to you as well. Like David, ask God to reveal any offensive ways in you and submit them to Him.

God not only sees your heart, but He also wants to make it pure.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
