You have found favour with God.
Are you married? If so, how old were you when you got married? And when you had kids?
I was 26 when I got married and 30 when I had Zac. For Indian standards, that might be a bit old, but in the West, where I’m from, that’s considered pretty young.
Although child marriage is unfortunately still a common practice in some Indian societies, the average age at which people marry and have kids is slowly rising.
Mary’s age isn’t mentioned in the Bible, but interestingly, many Bible scholars and historians estimate that the mother of Jesus was around 14-16 years old when she got pregnant, some even saying she could have been as young as 11. 😳
It amazes me when I think about how young Mary was when she was called and used by God. It says in Luke 1:30, that she had found favour with God. Even at her young age.
Mary wasn’t the only young person used by God. Even the age of the disciples is estimated to have been below 20. Again, it isn’t explicitly mentioned in the Bible, but Jewish men usually got married around the age of 18 and out of the disciples, only Peter had a wife, so he was probably the oldest.
Moses, on the other hand, was 80 when God spoke to him through a burning bush to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt. He had a wife and kids at that time, whom he all put on a donkey and left the moment God called Him (Exodus 4:20).
All of this to say, that age is just a number and God can use you no matter how old you are, your marital status or even your family responsibilities.
