Do you ever struggle with doubt in your faith?

Publication date Jul 10, 2026

I had a friend growing up who was quite the character. He was always first in line for mischief, and his signature pose was flexing his muscles. No wonder he earned the nickname “Muscles.” In fact, we still call him that, even though he has long since settled down, gotten married, and become a father himself. Sometimes a nickname just sticks.

The same goes for Thomas. Whenever he is mentioned, even in the Bible, people point to his doubtful nature (John 20:24). In fact, his nickname has become proverbial: Doubting Thomas. And yet, he still followed Jesus. And eventually, he became less doubtful than many of us.

At the same time, this quality of doubt makes Thomas someone we can easily identify with today. We don't take things at face value. We scrutinise claims. We subject almost everything to a kind of methodical doubt.

But Thomas’ doubt is not the same as indecision. Or as cynicism. Thomas’s doubt is his searching. It feels its way forward, yet it knows where it wants to look: somewhere close to Jesus. We see it happen with Thomas time and again in The Chosen.

Perhaps you recognise something of yourself in Thomas. Someone who dares to ask critical questions, yet remains open to being surprised, or even corrected. Someone willing to wrestle with doubt, but not willing to walk away.

As you know by now, we have a simple way to find out whether you are like Thomas: our Character Quiz. With just a few questions, you can discover which character from The Chosen you resemble most.

So for now, don’t doubt. Take the quiz. 😉

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
