His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning

Publication date Dec 31, 2025

We’ve come to the last day of the year!! 😱

I hope your year has been filled with unexpected blessings and unwarranted favour.

As we transition into the New Year, let’s continue to do so intentionally. Each day this week, we’ve been reflecting on a question to help us start the New Year right, and today I’d like you to ask yourself: What am I most grateful for in this past year?

When I look back at 2025, I cannot help but be filled with gratitude. Yes, it was probably one of the hardest years of my life, with the passing of our 5-year-old son Zac, yet a sense of gratefulness overflows when I look back at how God has carried our family through.

As you start looking back, I challenge you to make a list of at least 50 things you’re grateful for and then thank God for each one. If you’re going through a hard season, I challenge you to write down 10 ways you’ve seen God’s kindness in all of the tough places.

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember Your miracles of long ago. I will consider all Your works and meditate on all Your mighty deeds. – Psalms 77:11-12 NIV

If you’re up for it, here’s a bonus exercise: write a handful of thank-you notes to people who’ve impacted you this year, and may not realise just how much.

It is important to be grateful and to express that gratitude to God (and others). Listing all the things we are grateful for helps us to realise how incredibly faithful God has been to us. It causes us to say, together with Jeremiah:

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
