Can God use the daughter of a mass murderer?

Publication date Mar 6, 2026

Sometimes I wonder, “How is it possible that God can use me?”

I know my own flaws and shortcomings better than anyone else, and when I think about them, it amazes me that God still chooses to use someone like me for His Kingdom.

The Bible is filled with stories of unlikely people used by God in extraordinary ways. One of them is the daughter of the Pharaoh of Egypt, who saved Moses and adopted him as her own son (Exodus 2).

When you’re about to be killed, the last person you might expect to save you would be the daughter of the man trying to kill you. And yet, that’s exactly what happened to Moses.

The Pharaoh of Egypt was scared that the people of Israel would grow to become too powerful for the Egyptians, so he ordered that all the Hebrew baby boys would be killed (Exodus 1:9-10,22). Moses was miraculously saved by none other than the daughter of the bloodthirsty Pharaoh himself.

In a time of total darkness, where hope seemed lost and innocent babies were massacred, God sent help from the most unlikely of places.

If God can use the daughter of a wicked, insecure and relentless man, He can surely use you and me.

When she opened the basket Moses was in, she saw him and had compassion on him (Exodus 2:6).

Being used by God usually starts with having compassion for those God wants you to minister to.

Who do you feel compassion for?

Compassion doesn’t mean having pity on someone, but it comes from love and moves us into action.

Cameron and I feel compassion for you, our readers, and we love helping you to start each day with God.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
