Bring your worries to Jesus.

Publication date May 28, 2026

Did you know that we make approximately 35,000 decisions a day–227 of them about food alone? Most choices are small and made subconsciously, such as what to wear or how fast to walk. But we also have to make tons of intentional choices each day. As did Jesus.

This week, we’ve been focusing on a specific 24-hr window in His life, and today we’re looking at some of the choices He and those around Him had to make.

In John 6 and Matthew 14, we read how Jesus teaches a large crowd as evening falls, and His disciples begin to worry about how they will feed all these people. Then a young boy shows up with five loaves and two fish.

The disciples had to decide whether or not to worry about the situation. Despite having just returned from mission trips during which they had witnessed many miracles (Mark 6:12-13, 30), they chose to focus on the lack and bring the problem to Jesus.

The young boy had a choice about what to do with his food: keep it for himself or share it with a hungry crowd. I find it hard to believe that in a crowd of 5,000, only one person was carrying a meal. The difference is that this boy was willing to bring it to God instead of holding on to the little he had.

Jesus had a choice too: send them home or feed them. He chose to look up to His Father to supply their needs in that moment.

Are you facing a problem? Here are some great choices you can make today:

  • Unlike the disciples, remember God’s goodness and all the ways He has always provided for you
  • Still struggling? Like the disciples, bring your worries to Jesus.
  • Like the little boy, look at what you do have, even if it might seem insignificant. Offer it to God.
  • Like Jesus, thank your Heavenly Father for His provision even before He has given it.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
