He will rejoice over you with joyful songs - Zephaniah 3:17

Have you heard the expression “He’s a man of few words”?
This is often considered a good thing; someone who doesn’t talk too much, but when they do, it counts. Even the Bible says, “Be quick to listen and slow to speak” (James1:19).
But when it comes to expressing our love and affection to others in words, we should take the opposite approach, especially towards our children. We should shower our kids with words of love, encouragement and affirmation.
A man who struggles to express love to his children verbally is considered a silent father.
God is not a silent Father; He is an active listener and will shower you with words of love whenever you’re willing to listen. The Bible is filled with words of love from God to us, and He is expressive:
For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs - Zephaniah 3:17
But here’s the thing—if you grew up with a silent father, it can be incredibly difficult to relate to a communicative Heavenly Father.
friend, if a silent father left a mark on your life, you’re not alone. Acknowledge it, forgive your earthly dad and go on to step boldly into the loving arms of your Heavenly Father.
If, this week, you’ve realised that you’ve been hindered in your relationship with God because of a lack in some area of parental love, remember, you’re not the only one! I haven’t met a perfect person or a faultless parent yet.
The goal of this series was not to shame our parents but to help you grow towards experiencing the full scope of God’s Father love in your life!
