I speak of Your faithfulness and Your saving help.

Publication date Feb 15, 2026

There haven’t been many occasions in my life when I’ve felt truly unsafe, but I do remember an instance when our entire Yeshua Ministries team was travelling by bus through a remote area of Odisha, and we had a foreign worship band on tour with us.

Suddenly, in the middle of the night, as we passed through a village, our bus was surrounded by thousands of villagers who were celebrating a religious festival. Most were men, and many were drunk.

I quickly realised: if this mob turned against us, or if they discovered that we were Christians and that there were foreigners in our bus, things could turn very bad, very quick. I told the driver, “We need to get out of here, as fast as possible!”

The most natural response to danger is to want to get away from it quickly,

That’s why it’s so surprising to me that Peter, in Acts 12, after he’s just been miraculously rescued from prison by an angel, doesn’t leave town immediately. He’s now a wanted fugitive, and Herod’s man will be looking for him as soon as they realise he’s gone.

Instead of fleeing, Peter goes to the house of Mary, the mother of John, where he knows a lot of believers are gathered. There, he takes the time to testify about God’s miraculous rescue and encourages the believers to share the news with James and the other brothers and sisters (Acts 12:17).

Peter has his priorities straight; before worrying about his safety, he makes sure to testify to God’s divine intervention.

Perhaps it was the words of David in Psalm 40:9-10 NIV that guided him:

I proclaim Your saving acts in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, Lord, as You know. I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of Your faithfulness and Your saving help.

Are there ways in which you can testify to God’s faithfulness in your life today? Maybe to your friends, classmates or colleagues. Share with them the things that God has done for you.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
