The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. – Galatians

Publication date Jan 1, 2026

Happy New Year!!🎉

Jenny and I are so excited to start this year with you and our entire Chamatkar family! We wish you a beautiful, love-filled and blessed year and pray that you may grow closer to God and deeper in your faith.

I thought it was fitting to start the first day of the new year with what’s probably the most important and overarching theme of the Bible: love!

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV

The Bible teaches us to love God, others and ourselves. When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment is, He replied:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”Matthew 22:37-40 NIV

This week, we’re focusing each day on a question to start the year right, so in the light of today’s theme of love, I’d like you to ask yourself: What’s one practical relational goal I could shoot for in order to love better this year?

There are countless ways to express love in practical, everyday ways. Maybe it’s remembering names, listening better, becoming an emotional safe place for people, choosing not to be defensive, practising hospitality, attempting to serve someone else times a month, nixing the workplace gossip, or becoming relentless about sexual integrity.

Remember:

The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. – Galatians 5:6 NIV

Let’s start the New Year by praying this prayer together:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful new year ahead of me. Help me to grow in love for You, myself and those around me. Would You show me one way in which I could love practically and radically this year? In Jesus’ name, amen.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
