Humility is… Unoffendable.

Publication date Nov 5, 2025

One thing I have noticed about truly humble people is this: they’re almost impossible to offend.

Now, it’s not like I’m going around trying to offend people just to test them. But I’m sure you know what I mean. When you’re in the presence of someone who is genuinely humble, they’re just unfazed by things that others would consider offensive or hurtful.

I’m going to say something that might shock you: the opposite of humility is ego.🤯

And ego is something we as Indians, and especially Indian men, have a LOT of.

There, I said it.

And yes… I’m guilty too.

Here’s another thing you may not want to hear: if you find yourself constantly being hurt, offended or angered, it’s time for an ego check! 🧐

Let’s talk about our shins for a moment. I’m sure you weren’t thinking about yours until just now, right?

I suffer from shin splints. After playing sports, especially badminton, my shins flare up with pain. When that happens, I’m hyper-aware of them, because even the slightest touch hurts.

The same is true for our egos. Everyone has one. But when they’re oversized, they constantly end up getting hurt or threatened. The bigger the ego, the easier to offend.

The Bible warns us of this principle as well:

When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.Proverbs 11:2 NKJV

Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.Proverbs 18:12 NIV

Humility is what happens when we’re emotionally healthy. It’s remembering God is my defender. Whatever my offenders are doing to me, I’ve done to others as well. And God has forgiven me.

Yes, even the most humble people can get angry, but they are far less likely to, because there is less to defend, less to get offended about, and little to lose.

Be honest with yourself and with God when I ask you this question: what is the state of your ego?

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
