God’s hand upholds you

Publication date Jun 2, 2025

When our son, Zac, was just seven months old, all he wanted was to stand (this was before he fell sick). One day, Jenny was taking pictures of him and asked me to hold his hands. With determination and pride, Zac stood tall, though he was still far too little to stand on his own.[image]In the photo, Zac is the star. I’m entirely cut out of the frame–only my hands are visible—but Zac would have fallen without them.

Looking at that picture, God reminded me: “That’s exactly how I hold you up too.”

Some days, we may not feel God’s presence; we can’t see Him in our picture. But the truth is, He’s always there, supporting us.

It reminds me of Isaiah 41:13 :

For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.

This week, let’s explore what it means to let God hold our hands and lead us.

God has countless qualities that we humans can never understand. He is all-powerful, all-present, and all-knowing, and He transcends dates and times. This makes you wonder: How can we, as mortal beings, truly connect with an infinite and immortal God who is beyond all comprehension?

But it suddenly feels real when we picture Him as a Father reaching for His child’s hand. It’s a sweet, personal, and intimate image we can relate to.

friend, the Creator of the universe, wants to hold your hand!

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. – Isaiah 41:10

Say this prayer with me: “Yes, Lord! Take me by the hand; I want to be your child! In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
