It is time to wake up!

Publication date Aug 27, 2025

I’m a pretty light sleeper. I had to be—because for four years, I took care of our son Zac during the night. Due to his disabilities, Zac couldn’t speak or make any sounds on his own, so my ears became trained to detect even the faintest signs of distress. The slightest noise would wake me up.

Any loud noises will wake me up with a startle—I hate that feeling.

So I can only imagine how startled the ten virgins must have felt in Matthew 25 when they were suddenly awakened by the outcry “Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!” (Matthew 25:6).

Just like the ten virgins in the story, we all run the risk of falling asleep–spiritually speaking.

We all risk our faith becoming dormant. Life gets busy—work, studies, responsibilities pile up. Maybe we haven’t had time to pray or read the Word. Perhaps we’ve been hurt by the church or fellow believers.

I am not here for shame or condemnation, but just to remind you: it’s time to wake up!

The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. – Romans 13:11

Have you been feeling “spiritually sleepy” lately? Maybe you’re not as “on fire” for God as you used to be? 🔥

There is no judgment here but an invitation: commit today to refocus your heart and mind on actively waiting on the Lord. We will do it together! Keep reading your Chamatkars in the coming days.

Do you know someone else who needs a “wake-up call”? Forward this email and invite them to join you on this waiting journey.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
