Jesus is the most remarkable, perfect, loving, wisest man to have ever walked on the face of this earth
We are two weeks away from Easter, the months fly by so quickly!
It’s just three months since we celebrated the birth of Jesus, during Christmas, and in 14 days we’re already remembering His death on the cross.
Of course, in reality, the time between Jesus’ birth and His crucifixion was not three months, but approximately 33 years.
Of those 33 years, Jesus spent about 30 years in obscurity, and we know very little about the time between His birth, His childhood, and when He stepped into public ministry.
At age 30, Jesus had three years of public ministry, in which He discipled, taught and healed, before He gave Himself as the ultimate sacrifice on the cross.
Three years is not very long, and yet in that relatively short amount of time, according to John, Jesus did so many miracles that:
If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. – John 21:25 NIV
Jesus also shared many important teachings, including the beatitudes (Matthew 5 NIVUK) and many parables.
But arguably, some of the deepest and most profound things He said were during the final hours before He died.
In the coming two weeks, leading up to Easter, we will explore the true meaning of Easter through Jesus’ final 7 sayings on the Cross.
Jesus was not “just” the son of God who came to die for our sins; He is the most remarkable, perfect, loving, wisest man to have ever walked on the face of this earth. Both His life and His death changed history, and He calls you to be His follower.
What a privilege!
