Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things

Publication date Apr 29, 2026

The most chaotic part of air travel is usually at the airport. There are people everywhere, piles of lost luggage, and airport staff running around. In the midst of that chaos, you need to figure out which is your gate and how to get there.

But when you finally make it to your seat and the flight takes off, within a matter of seconds, that big, overwhelming, chaotic airport becomes smaller and smaller until it’s merely a dot on the earth below you.

Your perspective has changed. From being in the middle of the hustle and bustle, you suddenly soar far above it, and its chaos no longer affects you.

What’s more, as you rise higher and higher, you see patterns emerge, of terminals, landing strips, roads, fields, rivers. Suddenly, everything looks organised and neatly arranged. You can tell that there are systems that make perfect sense.

In the same way, life can seem chaotic and overwhelming while we are in the midst of our daily business and struggles. But God sees the bigger picture from a heavenly perspective. He knows the patterns that are unfolding and created the systems of this world.

When you start focusing your eyes on Him, you will notice that your perspective begins to change, too. The more you gaze upon the greatness and majesty of our God, the smaller your problems appear to be.

That’s why Paul wrote:

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. – Colossians 3:2 NIV

So, my challenge to you today is this: look above all the chaos in your life, and realise that God has systems and patterns in place—for your safety, for your future, and for your good.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
