Humility is… Childlike

Publication date Nov 9, 2025

Once, a young boy at church insisted on helping me carry sound equipment to the van. At first, I tried to make it easier for him by giving him lighter things, such as microphones and cables. But he was determined to carry something big and heavy.

With his parents’ permission, I finally handed him a small but slightly heavy speaker on wheels, which he began to drag across the room with all his strength.

It didn’t take long before the struggle showed. His determination was fierce, but eventually his tired eyes looked up at me, admitting he needed help.

That moment has stayed with me.

As stubborn as he was, the boy knew something most of us as adults often forget—we can’t do it all on our own, and it is ok to ask for help.

Humility comes more naturally to children than to grown-ups. Perhaps that’s precisely why in Mark 10:15 NIV Jesus tells us:

“Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Receiving the Kingdom of God is, in many ways, like being a child, admitting one needs help.

It means humbling yourself, realising that you can’t carry the heavy burdens of life all by yourself, and acknowledging that you need a saviour.

Jesus is offering to carry the load on your behalf.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

Are you willing, like the boy carrying the speaker, to admit you need help?

You don’t have to struggle alone. We have a fantastic team of trained e-coaches who are waiting to hear from you. Feel free to reach out to them by replying to this email if you need help.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
