God can handle your frustrations

Publication date Mar 21, 2026

This week, we’ve been looking at what it means to be brutally honest with God.

It can feel irreverent or disrespectful to bombard God with a stream of raw and unfiltered prayers. After all, our God is a Holy God, and the Bible teaches us to fear Him (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

One of the beautiful paradoxes of our Christian faith is that God is both King of the earth (Psalms 47:7) and a close and intimate friend (Proverbs 18:24).

Moses understood this better than anyone else.

He had a special kind of relationship with God, being one of the very few people in the Bible who actually saw God. God’s glory passed by Moses while he was in the cleft of a rock. But to spare Moses’ life, God covered him so Moses could only see His back, because no one can see God’s face and live (Exodus 33:21-23).

After Moses saw God, his awe for Him undoubtedly changed, but so did their relationship – it became even more personal and intimate.

The majesty of God doesn’t make Him inaccessible or unapproachable.

Despite having witnessed the glory of God up close, Moses still talks to God as a friend, sharing with him the frustrations of leading the people of Israel. Moses knew better than anyone else in history Who he was talking to, but he didn’t hold back:

I cannot carry all these people by myself; the burden is too heavy for me. If this is how you are going to treat me, please go ahead and kill me right now – if I have found favour in your eyes – and do not let me face my own ruin.Numbers 11:14-15

Like Moses, don’t hold back when you talk to God. He can handle your frustrations.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
