Welcome to the final day of our series, He makes all things new – 7 things God wants to renew.
So far, we’ve discussed how God wants to renew us, our hearts, our minds, our spirits, our eyes, and our names. But He doesn’t stop there. God will continue until, in the end, He will make everything new—the entire heaven and the whole earth.
John saw this revealed to him in a vision:
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. – Revelation 21:1-2 NIV
And through the prophet Isaiah, God foretold that in that new heaven and new earth:
…the former shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create. – Isaiah 65:17-18 NIV
Can you imagine? A place where there are no more tears, no death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain (Revelation 21:4). Where streets are paved with gold and gates made out of pearls (Revelation 21:21). Peter describes it as a place in which righteousness dwells (II Peter 3:13).
Whatever you are facing now, here on this earth. However hard, unfair or painful it may be, you have something incredible to look forward to!
