How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God.

Publication date Jan 12, 2026

Happy Monday! Or does your Monday feel a little blue?

The second or third Monday in January is called Blue Monday, which is said to be the most depressing day of the year. There’s no real science behind it, but it’s based on factors like the weather, the fact that all the fun holidays like Christmas are behind us, and our bank accounts being empty after the expensive December month.

So I figured what’s better to do on (supposedly) the most depressing day of the year, than to look at the most uplifting chapter of the Bible: Psalm 23.

The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.Psalms 23:1-6 NIV

Take some time to let these words resonate in your heart. What stands out to you?

Whenever I read a familiar Bible passage, I look for something new to catch my eye. Today, while I read Psalm 23, I was struck by how personal and intimate the care of a shepherd is.

The only thing on a shepherd’s mind is caring for his sheep and tending to all their needs: pasture, quietness, rest, guidance, protection, comfort and love.

In the same way, you are always on God’s mind.

How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! – Psalms 139:17-18 NLT

On this blue Monday, take a moment to realise how loved you are.💙

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
