Your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

Publication date Apr 23, 2026

Do you ever wake up and vividly remember a dream?

It happens to me occasionally, though not very often. Most of the time, my dreams simply reflect things I’ve been processing from the day before, or thoughts that have been lingering in my mind. Often, they borrow scenes from a movie I’ve recently watched or feature someone whose social media post caught my attention. By the time I wake up, the details are hazy, and before long, I forget the dream altogether.

But sometimes a dream stays with me. It stands out for its clarity and because I can’t logically explain where it came from. When that happens, I believe the dream came from God.

The Bible tells us that God speaks to us through dreams:

“In the last days,” God says, “I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”Acts 2:17

Although we can explain dreams, we can never control them, which makes them an excellent way for God to communicate with us without the interference of our own minds.

The dreams I believe were God-given weren’t always happy; sometimes they were confusing or even alarming. Yet they never instill fear, guilt, hatred, or sadness. Instead, they leave me with a deep sense of peace and assurance.

Most of the time, their meaning isn’t immediately clear. It is often only weeks or even months later that I come to understand what God was trying to show me. Very often, it feels as though God, in His kindness, was preparing me for something ahead, so that when it finally happened, I wasn’t shaken.

Do you ever have dreams that seem more than just your regular jumble of reliving recent events? Dreams that stand out, stay with you or seem unrelated to anything you’ve experienced lately?

I encourage you to write them down and ask God to, in time, reveal their meaning to you.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
