Unity is oneness of purpose not sameness of persons – Tony Evans

Have you ever wondered how within Christianity—where everyone worships the same God—there can be so much division?
There are countless denominations, each one believing they understand God’s Word better than the others or have found the right way to worship Him, raising the question: Shouldn’t there be one universal truth about God?
This question is definitely on my list to ask God once I get to heaven, but until then, here’s what I do know: the enemy thrives on division. He knows that if the church would unite and be at peace, it would become an unstoppable force.💪🏽
This week, as we reflect on God’s shalom–His perfect peace–let’s not forget the importance of peace within the body of Christ.⛪️✌🏽
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. – Ephesians 4:3-6
friend, we, as followers of Christ, must be seekers of peace and unity.
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. – 1 Corinthians 1:10
Yes, unity is challenging when people have different views, but remember:
“Unity is oneness of purpose not sameness of persons” – Tony Evans
friend, let’s take a moment today to pray for unity in the global church:
“Heavenly Father, we pray for You universal church today; unite us in our shared mission for Your Kingdom. Grant us kindness in our differences and wisdom to seek unity without uniformity. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
