Do you go to Jesus daily to drink from His living water?

Publication date Jun 7, 2026

Have you ever travelled through a desert? Many years ago, I had the privilege of travelling through the Australian Outback. It was a beautiful experience, but also slightly scary. It was so hot that if our van broke down or if we ran out of water, our lives would have been in danger because the heat could kill us within hours.🥵

Thankfully, we had a very competent tour guide who was well prepared and brought us back safely.

The people of Israel had to travel through the desert for 40 years! During that time, they were completely dependent on God for their food and water.

In Exodus 17, we read how the people run out of water and are so thirsty they’re about to stone Moses, whom they blame for their predicament. Moses cries out to God, who instructs him to strike a rock with his staff, and water flows out.

This rock represents Jesus (1 Corinthians 10:1-4 NIV). Several times in the Bible, God is referred to as a rock (for example, Deuteronomy 32:3-4 NIV and Psalms 18:2 NIV). And in John 4, Jesus says of Himself:

“Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”John 4:14 NIV

The good news is we no longer have to strike the Rock; He was struck once and for all when He died on the cross. All we need to do is ask and receive the living water that never runs dry!

We might not always be aware of it, but we live in a spiritual desert and are in constant need of water. It is our job to go to Jesus, our Rock, each day to drink from His living water. Reading your daily Chamatkar is a great place to start!

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
