I am a friend of God
My Yeshua Ministries band members and I have been friends for a very long time. We know each other so well that when we’re on stage, one look is often enough to communicate what we’re thinking or to know what the other person is up to.
The beauty of close friends is that you can be yourself with them and share your life with them.
I hope you have some good, Godly friends in your life.
But you know what I find truly humbling? That Jesus wants to be our friend too!
“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” – John 15:15 NIV
Apart from being our God, our King, our Saviour, our Shepherd, our Bridegroom, and so much more…. Jesus wants us to know Him like a friend.
He desires to involve you in what He is doing and to share His heart with you, like a true friend. In this passage, Jesus makes it clear that we’re not merely servants who do a job, but that we get to partner with Jesus on a more intimate level.
And He doesn’t want to be just any kind of friend, but a close, intimate friend who knows you through and through.
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. – Proverbs 18:24
