I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
Something I’ve learned recently is how important water is in the clay spinning process. For clay to be shaped, it has to be soft.
If it’s hard, it cracks, resists, and inevitably becomes unusable.
There have been seasons in my life where my heart felt like that—hard, defensive, resistant.
And the truth is, God won’t shape a heart that refuses to yield. When that heart cries out to be made new and soft to God’s leading, God moves close and does some of His best work! Like a potter with soft clay (Isaiah 64:8).
When your heart is soft—when you’re open, humble, and surrendered—God begins to do something powerful.
It reminds me of this beautiful promise God made:
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. – Ezekiel 36:26 NIV
Softness doesn’t mean weakness. It means responsiveness. It means willingness to let God change you.
The Holy Spirit is like water to clay—keeping your heart mouldable in every season.
And every day, you face a choice: Will you yield to God… Or to the world? Will you allow that shaping or fight to remain the same? This is a tough question because there is no middle ground.
To yield, or not to yield? That’s the question. I’ve tried both, and I can tell you what works best.😉
Today, choose to yield. Not because it’s easy—but because you trust the One shaping you.
I hope that you will join me in this prayer:
Holy Spirit, soften my heart. Remove any hardness, pride, or resistance in me. Help me yield to Your work in my life. Shape me with humility and make me responsive to Your leading. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
