For we live by faith, not by sight.

Publication date Dec 13, 2025

One of Cameron’s pet peeves is that I tend to ask a million questions when he tells me something. Sometimes he’ll inform me about a project or a proposal, and I’ll go, “But how is that gonna work?”, “When will it happen?”, “Who’s involved?” And he’ll look at me and be like “babe, I don’t know all the details yet, it’s just an idea.”

Maybe that’s why I’m so impressed with Mary, the mother of Jesus, who asked just ONE question when she was told:

You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.Luke 1:31-32 NIV

One! She asked, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” (Luke 1:34 NIV). After that, nothing but a simple “I am the Lord’s servant, may your word to me be fulfilled.” (Luke 1:38).😳

I may adopt the one-question-only approach the next time Cameron drops an idea. I’m sure he’d love it.🤪

But all joking aside, it simply shows the level of Mary’s faith and trust in God. Her head was undoubtedly spinning with tons of questions and, as Cameron shared a few days ago, even worries. Yet, Mary chose to put her trust in the Lord.

As we look at a New Year ahead, this is certain: God will require big faith from us. Not maybe, but guaranteed. Every believer is called to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

How will you respond, when faced with seemingly impossible situations that make your head spin? If you find yourself in that situation right now, give Mary’s words a try: “I am the Lord’s servant, may your word to me be fulfilled.”

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
