Have you ever doubted that Jesus is still alive today?
There’s a movie based on a true story called ‘Lion’ in which Dev Patel plays a 25-year-old Australian man, Saroo, who searches for his biological family in India. He was adopted from India at 5 years old after he got separated from his Indian family at a crowded train station. When he finally finds them, they are overjoyed because for all those years they thought he was dead.
I can imagine that’s how Joseph’s family would’ve felt, too, when they found out he was alive. For years, they lived under the presumption that he was dead, but far from it! He was, in fact, Pharaoh’s right-hand man (read the story in Genesis 37).
Because of Joseph’s unique position as a ruler in Egypt and his brilliant rescue plan to store and then distribute grain, he was able to save not only his own family from starvation but also all the nations around them.
Just as Saroo’s and Joseph’s families believed they were gone, in today’s world, many people believe that Jesus is dead. They think that He was just a religious figure who once lived on Earth but has since passed away.
Nothing is further from the truth… He is very much alive!
For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him. – Romans 6:9
Just like Joseph, Jesus is in a unique position to save us, as He is seated on God’s right hand (Hebrews 1:3)! His brilliant rescue plan did not involve grain storage houses but death on a cross.
You and I have the privilege of sharing this amazing news with people: Jesus is not dead, He is alive, and He can save you (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)!
