Jaise hirni paani ke liye Pyasa main bhi hu Tere liye

Publication date Mar 11, 2026

Over the years, I’ve released updated versions of many of my songs, mostly because people still love them, but the music had started to feel a little dated.Yet there’s one song I reimagined not just for style, but because I had a change of heart about the original lyrics that my younger brother and I had written.

From the very beginning of my journey as a worship leader, my guiding principle has been simple: it’s all about Jesus. My dad used to say, “Chicken curry without chicken is just curry.” In the same way, I believe a worship song without the name of Jesus is just a song—beautiful in sound, perhaps, but lacking.

Now, I’m not against such songs. In fact, there are times when I even sing Bollywood songs with meaningful lyrics, as worship songs to God (yes, it has stirred some controversy 🤪). But when it comes to the songs I write, I want there to be no doubt: they are created solely to be sung to Jesus, to honour Him, and to lift His name alone.

However, there was one song I had released that, though beautiful, didn’t include the name of Jesus or God, I’m talking about the original Le Chal Mujhe.

For that reason, I never sang it during a concert. It just didn’t feel right.

So I went back to the drawing board and meditated on the verse this song is based on:

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.Psalms 42:1 NIV

It struck me that not only do I desire God, but He desires me. He left heaven in pursuit of my heart.

So I added the name of Jesus to the song and re-wrote the lyrics to shift the focus from my desperation to His abounding and sacrificial love.

As a result, 9 years after the original song came out, we released Le Chal Mujhe 2.0

Listen to it and judge for yourself.😉

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
