God's faithfulness is not limited by the strength of our faith
Happy Valentine’s Day! May God’s abounding love for you fill your heart today.❤️
Growing up, our family didn’t have much money. Not long after my dad went into full-time ministry, when his income wasn’t stable, we found ourselves completely without food.
There was no money in the house, and my parents told us to trust God and keep praying. A day went by, and we were hungry—the following day, still no food. We continued to pray. Finally, in the evening, the doorbell rang.
When we opened the door, there was a huge bag with steaming hot Chinese food sitting on our doorstep. My dad asked the neighbours to check whether they had ordered food; perhaps it had been delivered to the wrong house. We even called the restaurant, but they confirmed the food had been ordered to our home and paid for.
The funny thing? We had been fervently praying for food for days. And yet, when it appeared on our doormat, our first response was “this can’t be right!”
The same happened when Peter appeared at the house of Mary, the mother of John, in Acts 12:12-16. A large group of people had gathered to pray for Peter’s release and his life to be spared, yet when he showed up at the door, they thought it was more likely that an angel had appeared who looked like him than Peter himself.
Thankfully, God's faithfulness is not limited by the strength of our faith or the presence of doubts.
If you struggle to believe that God can answer your prayers, you can ask Jesus to help you. Just like the father in Mark 9:24 NKJV you can say: “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”
