He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple – Isaiah 50:4

Publication date May 10, 2025

Have you heard of the Five Love Languages? It’s a concept by Gary Chapman, and the idea is that everyone has a preferred “language” in which to express and receive love. The five languages are:

  • Words of Affirmation
  • Quality Time
  • Receiving Gifts
  • Acts of Service
  • Physical Touch

Mine is Words of Affirmation, although if you ask my wife, she’d say that there is a sixth love language in which I prefer to be spoken to: food.🤪

The Bible encourages us, as disciples, to speak words of affirmation and encouragement to those around us, especially people who need it. Isaiah says:

“The Lord God has given Me the tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.”Isaiah 50:4

As disciples, we’re called to be sensitive to God’s voice, especially when He prompts us to encourage someone. Start your day by asking God if there’s someone who needs encouragement. As you go about your day, stay open to the Holy Spirit’s nudges—those little thoughts like “Send her a message” or “Give him a call.”

I’ve experienced this countless times, and it’s incredible how often the timing is perfect for the person on the other end.

friend, if you feel a prompting from God in your heart for someone, don’t hesitate! A simple call or message could make a huge difference… believe me!

Let’s pray:

“Heavenly Father, open my ears to the beauty of Your voice and my heart to the greatness of Your ways. I choose to listen and respond to what You will ask me. Give me the desire, knowledge, humility, and courage I need. In Jesus’s name, amen.”

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
