Do not fear, for I am with you.
Do you have a tag-phrase? Like a wisdom you live by, or remind yourself of or something you often say to others.
Mine is, “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.” Especially in today’s world of advertising scams and AI, it is often hard to distinguish between what’s real and what's not. So, this is my guideline for deciding whether to believe something.
If God had a tag-phrase, I think it would be, “Do not be afraid” or “Fear not.” Those phrases appear over 70 times in the Bible.😳 It seems really important to God that we do not fear!
Here are a few:
- Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9 NIV
- “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” – Isaiah 41:13 NIV
- The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. – Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV
What are you afraid of?
Today’s challenge is to let go of your fears and let God strengthen you.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. – Isaiah 41:10 NIV
Give all your fears to God, and in the words of David, exclaim: “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Psalms 118:6 NIV).
