Jesus bled for your reconciliation

Today is Good Friday, the day on which, approximately 2000 years ago, Jesus gave up His life for us on the cross.
It always seems a bit odd to me that we call this day “good”, whereas, in fact, it was a day of unimaginable physical suffering for our King while He died a slow and agonising death on our behalf.
And yet… it was a good day. It was the best day in history! On that day, Jesus did something no one else could do: He reconciled us with the Father.
The sixth time Jesus shed blood during the last 18 hours of his life was when they nailed Him to the cross.
Jesus was “pierced for our transgressions” (Isaiah 53:5).
Transgressions can also be translated as “rebellion,” which means opposing or fighting against authority. Each time we sin, we oppose God’s authority in our life.
“Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.” – 1 John 3:4
Rebellion drives a wedge between the rebel and the one he’s opposing. That’s what sin does. It separates us from God.
“No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.” – 1 John 3:6
When Jesus was pierced for our iniquities, He made the way for us to be reconciled with the Father.
“For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” – Romans 5:10-11
friend, it was a Good Friday, even for Jesus, because the wedge between us and the Father was more painful for Him than the nails in His hands and feet.
His love for you and His desire for you to draw close to the Father was stronger than death!
Let’s listen to this song on the blood of Jesus.
