God’s hand shapes you

Publication date Jun 4, 2025

Have you ever tried your hand at pottery? I haven’t, but I’ve heard it’s more complicated than it looks. It seems simple–just holding clay in your hands and shaping it while the wheel is spinning. But apparently, it’s a very intricate process and a delicate balance of pressure, speed, and water. One wrong move, and the whole thing crumbles.

The potter must remain entirely focused on the pot he is creating. Even the slightest distraction can ruin the process.

Now imagine God as the potter and yourself as the clay.

Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay; You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand. – Isaiah 64:8

God’s entire focus and attention are on you as He works to shape you into the perfect vessel of His love and purpose.

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from [dishonour], he will be a vessel for honour, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.II Timothy 2:21

God is personally involved in your lives and is focused on how you grow and take shape. God’s hands shape and form you, smoothening out imperfections and holding you tightly until you have reached the desired shape. Just as a potter cannot let go of the clay while the wheel is spinning, or it will collapse, God does not take His hands off your life even when it seems to be spinning.

friend, let's thank God for His constant shaping in your life:

Heavenly Father, thank you that You are the potter and I am the clay. I feel safe in Your firm, strong, loving hands, knowing You are purposefully shaping me. Mould me into a vessel of honour, love, and purpose to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
