Jesus bled for your healing

Publication date Apr 13, 2025

We’ve been looking at the last 18 hours of Jesus’ life together and the significance of each of the seven times Jesus bled for us. So far, we have discovered that Jesus' blood was shed to forgive our sins, redeem us from any accusation, and cleanse us from our shame.

Today, we come to the bloodiest of all events–Jesus’ flogging at the whipping post. I won’t go into the gruesome details here (though you can research it if you wish). It suffices to say that it was brutal beyond imagination and left Jesus stripped of all the flesh from His back, His muscles exposed, and surrounded by a pool of His own blood.

“His appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and His form marred beyond human likeness” – Isaiah 52:14

Why did Jesus, who had never known illness and had never sinned–have to suffer like that? If Jesus had to die for us, why so gruesome?

“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.” – 1 Peter 2:24

Jesus was inflicted with the severest kind of wounds in order to heal our severest conditions. There is no illness, disease or disability more destructive than the flogging He bore on our behalf.

“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5

friend, are you in need of physical healing? Proclaim today today: “By His wounds, I am healed!”

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
