Jesus bled to be the perfect sacrifice

I can’t believe it’s April already–time flies! Christmas feels like yesterday, yet Easter is just two weeks away! 😳
As we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ death and resurrection, I want to invite you on a meaningful journey. Over the next two weeks, we’ll reflect on some of the profound, miraculous events surrounding Jesus’ crucifixion.
One focus will be the seven times Jesus bled during His final 18 hours on earth.
These moments weren’t random or coincidental—they fulfilled ancient prophecies, each shedding of His blood carrying deep significance. In the Bible, the number seven represents fullness, completion, and perfection. Each time Jesus bled, He established a perfect work:
- Forgiveness
- Redemption
- Cleansing
- Healing
- Deliverance
- Reconciliation
- Salvation
All seven put together amount to the complete and perfect sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross.
“Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.” – 1 Peter 1:18-19
Interestingly, the number seven is also linked to the work of the Holy Spirit in the Bible. John witnessed seven lamps representing the seven spirits of God (Revelation 4:5). Similarly, the lampstand with seven branches in the Tabernacle reminded the people of God’s presence at all times through the Holy Spirit, who is the oil that never runs out (Exodus 25).
friend, the Holy Spirit desires to supernaturally bring about in your life everything Jesus accomplished for you on the cross. On the basis of your faith, the Holy Spirit wants to complete all of the seven works in your life!
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith” – Ephesians 2:8
Will you join me on this journey friend? If so, pray this prayer with me:
“Holy Spirit, as we approach Easter, open my heart to new revelations of Jesus’ sacrifice and help me to receive, in faith, all that He accomplished on the cross.”
