I am fearfully and wonderfully made
What’s your favourite feature? And if you could change one thing about your body, what would it be?
For me, my eyes are my favourite feature, probably because Jenny loves them so much. And if I could change something, I’d probably add a few inches to my height, which would make life with a tall, Dutch wife just a little easier.🤪
These days, there are endless ways to change our appearance. From simple things like clothes, hairstyles, or make-up, to major transformations such as plastic surgery and even sex-change operations.🤯
I’m all for looking good, taking care of your body and approving your appearance, but there is a fine line between looking your best and wanting to change the way God created you.
God makes no mistakes. Whether or not you appear “beautiful” in the eyes of the world, God chose the way He created you.
For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. – Psalms 139:13-14 NIV
Whenever you look in the mirror, the devil will try to convince you that there’s something wrong with the way you look. Negative self-talk is his way to make you doubt the perfection of God’s design.
Not only are you fearfully and wonderfully made, you are also made in the best possible image:
So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them. – Genesis 1:27 NIV
The best way to stop worrying about your appearance, is to start looking at the One in Whose image you’ve been created.
