A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Who are the most significant women in your life?
I assume husbands would put their wives at number one.😇
For me, the top of my list would definitely include my mom and sister, followed by the women in Cameron’s family, friends, spiritual moms, and maybe an old teacher or former boss.
My guess is your list would look similar. I doubt it would feature the midwives who assisted at your birth or the daughter of a king, right? 🤔
Yet if we were to look at the list of most significant women in Moses’ life, they would undoubtedly be on it!
In fact, throughout Moses’ story, there’s a long line of women who played pivotal roles in shaping his life. Of course, it starts with his mother, then includes the midwives, his sister, the daughter of the Pharaoh, and finally his wife.
I love that in the story of Moses, one of the greatest heroes of our faith and, by many, considered the most important leader in the Bible after Jesus, women play the most crucial roles.
There is no other person in the Bible, and perhaps in history, whose life was saved by women as many times as Moses’.
This Sunday is International Women’s Day, and that’s why I want to take this week to learn from the women in Moses’ life. They sure are remarkable.
Start by taking a look at your own life and take a moment to reflect on the question I started with today: Who are the most significant women in your life?
The Bible says:
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honour her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. – Proverbs 31:30-31
Send a message today to the women on your list, praising and honouring them. I am sure they’ll love it!
