Do you feel like you have too little to make a difference?
I have noticed that one of God’s favourite replies when we ask Him for something is, “You do it!”
I received that answer years ago when I was lamenting to God about the lack of quality Hindi worship music. I heard His voice say, “Then why don’t you do something about it?”
My first thought was, “That’s impossible!” At the time, I was just a musician, not a worship leader, and Hindi wasn’t even my first language. But I obeyed, which led to the start of Yeshua Ministries.
Jesus’ disciples experience something similar when they approached Him with a problem. Jesus had been ministering to a large crowd for a long time, but the sun was setting, and the disciples grew concerned:
‘This is a remote place,’ they said, ‘and it’s already very late. Send the people away so that they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.’ But He answered, ‘You give them something to eat.’ – Mark 6:35-37
The disciples were in shock, and when they checked their food supplies, they had only five loaves and two fish. Not nearly enough. But Jesus asked them to bring what they had.
So they offered the little that seemed so insignificant. Jesus took it into His hands, lifted it toward heaven, blessed it and began to break it. Piece after piece, he placed portions into their hands.
A Chamatkar unfolded. With Jesus’ help, the disciples fed a crowd of over 5,000 people.
When I started Yeshua Ministries, I gave God the little I had to offer: my passion for the local church, my musical talents and a desire to serve Him. God multiplied that into an international music ministry.
