The Lord’s mercies are new every morning - Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV

Publication date Aug 28, 2026

Do you ever feel, at the end of the day, like you’ve barely made it through the day?

I do sometimes, and then I remind myself of Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

God gives us new mercies every morning!

What does that mean for today’s burdens?

First, the very reality of these new mercies from God each morning means we shouldn’t be discouraged by barely making it through a day. Many days leave us feeling broken and beat-up. That’s okay.

Cast your burdens of the past day onto Jesus (I Peter 5:7). He can handle them better than we ever could, anyway. There was enough mercy for that day. There will be more in the morning.

Second, we cannot rely on yesterday’s mercies for today’s burdens. We need to receive our mercies afresh each day.

The verse doesn’t say “His mercies are new each year, or each month.” It says each day because that is all we can handle. God can see the future and the bigger picture, but He wants us to be concerned only with the day ahead and to trust Him with the rest.

Go to God in prayer each day, and receive His peace, love and guidance afresh every day.

Reading you daily Chamatkar is a great start!

Would you like to give someone else the gift of daily encouragement? Forward this message to them because it is a great reminder that God’s mercies are new each day for them, too!

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
