It’s not just about the destination; embrace the journey.

I’ve been a Christian all my life, and one of my greatest childhood fears was missing out on God’s will for my life. I grew up hearing that God has a unique plan and a calling for everyone, and somehow, that caused me to stress about discovering His plan for me and making sure I was walking in it.
I often prayed in frustration, “God, why do you make it so hard to know Your will?? Why don’t you just tell me plainly so I don’t mess up?”
With time and experience, I’ve learned an invaluable truth: it’s not just about the destination— there are important lessons to be learned on the journey. So embrace it.
If God wants to give you specific instructions and a fully detailed plan for your life’s calling, He will make it unmistakably clear.
He told Moses through a burning bush that he would deliver Israel (Exodus 3), Mary received an angelic visitation announcing her becoming the mother of Jesus (Luke 1:26-38) and Jonah was called to go to Nineveh and, when he refused, was transported inside a fish to get there (Jonah 1).😳
However, these examples are exceptions to the rule that God usually chooses to reveal His plans one step at a time. He takes us on a journey, often with many detours, filled with lessons, growth, and preparation:
“Until the time came to fulfil his dreams, the Lord tested Joseph’s character.” – Psalms 105:19
friend, let’s pray together: “Heavenly Father, I want to follow Your will above all else. Today, I accept Your invitation to journey with You, trusting that You will reveal Your plan each step of the way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
