I am God’s heir

Publication date Feb 25, 2026

No one, when you ask them, “Who are you?” will answer, “I’m an heir!”🤨

And yet, being an heir of God is an important part of our identity in Christ. Just as Christ is an heir to the Kingdom, so are we.

Now if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory. Romans 8:17 NIV

An heir is a person entitled to the property or authority of another, like children who inherit from their parents.

Being an heir means you receive an inheritance; the same is true for us as heirs in Christ.

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.Ephesians 1:11 NKJV

Our inheritance as children of God is, first and foremost, that we get God. We get to know Him, be loved by Him, live in relationship with Him, and He even deposits His own Spirit in our hearts to help us (John 14:26).

Secondly, we get the gift of eternal life (John 5:24). We inherit an eternity spent with God in a place where there is no pain, death, sorrow or crying (Revelation 21:4).

Thirdly, we can use the name of Jesus and ask for anything in prayer in His name.

“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” – John 14:13 NKJV

Finally, as God’s children and heirs, we carry on His legacy by participating in His most important work: sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We get to welcome more heirs into the family by sharing the gospel and making disciples (Mark16:15 NKJV). The great thing about this inheritance is that it never runs out; there’s enough for everyone!

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
